School-year instrument rentals
Ten months, September through June, for students in school band and orchestra across Connecticut and New York. Every instrument is set up on our own bench before it goes out, delivered free to schools in the fall, and swapped for the next size up at no charge as your child grows.

Band A Line becomes yours after three years. On strings, rental fees credit toward a purchase.
Orchestra
Every string instrument is set up by our luthiers before it leaves: bridge cut, soundpost placed, strings and action adjusted for a student rather than left as it arrived. More about our string instruments and labels.
Band
Three lines on every band instrument. A Line is brand new, built to specifications we set, and becomes yours after three years. B Line is the recognized name brands, Yamaha, Jupiter and Selmer among them, restored on our bench between players. C Line is the same house instrument as our A Line, returned from a previous rental and rebuilt by our technicians. On flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone and alto sax we also rent a Premium Yamaha Line, in the models school programs most often specify. More about our band instruments and lines.
Don’t see your instrument?
We also rent oboe, bass clarinet, tuba, baritone saxophone, euphonium, F-attachment trombones, and single and double French horns. The one instrument we do not rent is the bassoon.
These are not order-form instruments. They vary in ways that matter: a bass clarinet with or without the low extension, a three or four valve tuba, a baritone sax with or without the low A. Quantities are limited for both school-year and short-term rentals, and what we have on hand changes through the year.
Call and tell us what your band director asked for. Everyone here is a working musician, so we will understand what your student actually needs, and we can tell you the brand, the model and the price of what is available.

When to book
Call as soon as your student’s instrument is assigned. Late August into early September is our heaviest stretch, so booking ahead of it means a faster delivery date, but we take orders all year and a September call is still a normal one.
Started late? Call anyway. September is our busiest month and we’re staffed for it, and we can still get your student playing.
